The King tells his people that it is the work of selkies – mythical creatures who can turn from seals into men and back again – and witches. But no matter how many women he burns at the stake, the children are still being taken.

Fallon is a man who has always dreamed of being a hero. His wife Bridgit just wants to live in peace and quiet, and to escape the tragedies that have filled her life. His greatest wish and her worst nightmare are about to collide.

When an empty ship sails into their village, he begins to follow the trail towards the truth behind the evil stalking their land. But it is a journey that will take them both into a dark, dark place and nobody can tell them where it might end ..

  • The last quarrel

    By Duncan Lay
The premise had potential, but over the five episodes did not come together in my opinion. The characters did not draw you in sufficiently and the pace was lacking. I ended up skim reading towards the end. I enjoyed the fact that the characters struggled with their own demons, but overall these struggle were dealt with on a shallow level. There is potential for further development but, after 731 pages of waiting, I will not continue with the series.
  • Great read!

Every character and scene is well built and draws you in, keeps you wanting to know wanting more. Well written and a great story told, it let's you step right into the pages. The only downside for me is that each book isn't longer but it's well worth it anyway. A big thank you to the author. I look forward to the rest of the episodes.
